About Me

I am a Wife.  I am a mother of two.  I am a daughter.  I am a sister.  I am a friend to many and a best friend to few.  But most of all I am a follower of Jesus.  Originally from a small town in Georgia called Villa Rica, The "City of Gold".  I married my love in 2006.  We had our first blessing, Jeremiah Daniel in 2008 and our second blessing, Adrielle Lynn in 2010.  They are my world.  my little miracles in which I will share that story a little later.

Seems like great things come in multiples of two years.  In 2012, We packed up and transplanted ourselves in Columbia, SC.  Settled now eight months later and love it more than before.  Now this story is somewhat an interesting one and led by God the entire time.  Stay tuned to that post as well. :-)

Imperfect in all of my ways, I however,  strive to be the virtuous woman spoken about in Proverbs.  The epitome of excellence and worth.  She took care of her children, her husband, grew and cooked their food, made their clothes, took care of their land and most of all feared the Lord.

My goals are to aid my family in the best ways possible.   I am new to gardening, although I have been around it my entire life.  I love the thought of growing vegetables to feed my family without harming them nor spending outrageous money in the supermarkets.  If I can not grow it,  I will support the local farmers and their efforts to provide for their family.  Although gardening in my world is a work in progress,  but with trial and error, I can hopefully become very good at gardening.  Everything takes time and patience to learn and getting right.  God Himself took his time in perfecting us, perfecting the earth, the water, the skies.  We should do nothing less in our walk with him or our ventures in cultivating for our family and their needs.

I enjoy anything crafty.  Sewing, crocheting, painting, designing.  I am all over it.   I strive to save money anywhere I can.  I coupon, re-purpose, and re-use.  I gather inspirations from all over.  rather they are desires from Pinterest post or things that we are in need of or want.  Everything has a purpose and a vision.  Usually I am crafting for fun or for things around the house or my wonderful children.  Then there are those times that I do it as an income.

My main focus for my Striving towards virtue blog is basically this:  to encourage, empower, and enlighten other women, and myself, through scripture and through events of every day life to strive towards virtue and back to basics of living life wholesomely and purposefully for God's Kingdom.  This is partially for my own spiritual growth.  In the past year I have slid back.  I offer no excuses because it is simply my fault and me becoming comfortable, and that is just not where I should be or where I NEED to be.

I hope my fellow ladies can unlock their inner "frugalista" and strive their way towards virtue.  I hope you enjoy this ride we call life and savor each moment!  Happy Reading and may God richly empower you to strive towards virtue!

Take Care,
Laura
